According to the results of 2022, the expenses of Russian companies on environmental protection for the first time reached 1.1 trillion rubles, which is 12.2% more than in 2021. Among the regions that most actively invest in the environment, FinExpertiza analysts named the Krasnoyarsk Territory (the enterprises of the region allocated 99.6 billion rubles for this purpose), Moscow (68 billion rubles) and the Moscow Region (57.6 billion rubles).

The enterprises of Ingushetia (41 million rubles), Dagestan (128 million rubles) and Kalmykia (270 million rubles) allocated the least for nature protection. Up to 1 billion rubles the enterprises of Altai, Tyva, the Jewish Autonomous Region, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia, Kabardino-Balkaria and Chukotka also spent.

It is specified that over the past ten years, business spending on the environment has increased by 2.2 times – from 0.494 trillion rubles. in 2013 to 1.109 trillion in 2022. On average, the annual increase in spending is about 9%. The maximum jump was recorded in 2021, when environmental costs increased by 18%.
