Bud Light loses $5 billion in transgender ad

Anheuser-Busch lost more than $5 billion in market capitalization after one of its brands, Bud Light, partnered with transgender Dylan Mulvaney, according to the US. new york post and British Daily Mail.
Dylan Mulvaney is an actress and comedian who is popular on TikTok. She has 10.8 million subscribers.
The partnership was announced on 2 April. After that, sales of Bud Light beer in the US began to plummet. In social networks, American users are actively calling for a boycott of the drink. The media is talking about “millions” of hashtags calling for a beer boycott on TikTok and “thousands” using it on Twitter. Bars are reporting a 50-70% drop in demand.
In general, users are not satisfied with the fact that their favorite beer is being made part of the fashionable political agenda.
The current events are not the first ones related to the reaction of conservative consumers to the controversial advertising moves of large companies. Previously, brands such as Nike, Coke, M&M`s and Hershey`s, among others, have come under fire.
