The Russian bookmaker Liga Stavok filed a lawsuit against the Telesport operator, which owns the rights to broadcast international sports tournaments. The corresponding claim was registered by the Arbitration Court on April 10, and drew attention to it RBC. The amount of the Stavok League’s claims is 37.4 million rubles, details in card index are not given.

The press service of League of Stavoks told RBC that the lawsuit is related to the failure to fulfill the contract on the part of Telesport. The bookmaker claims that he tried to resolve the dispute out of court, but the defendant’s accounts were frozen. “We paid an advance, they could not provide the service. Due to the negative financial condition of Telesport, which now has many ships, we decided to collect their debt,” said a representative of the bookmaker, without specifying what service they were talking about.

RBC sources claim that Telesport has debts to other sports betting organizers. Their amount allegedly can reach “several billion rubles.” The publication’s interlocutors did not provide any details.

As Kommersant learned, on April 8, a search was conducted at the office of Russia’s largest operator in the sports marketing market, JSC TeleSport Group. The visit of investigators to the premises in Moscow City is connected with a criminal case of particularly large-scale fraud against the general director of the company, Pyotr Makarenko. He was placed under house arrest on charges of non-repayment of a Sberbank loan of almost 5 billion rubles. Mr. Makarenko himself believes that the reason for the criminal prosecution was his arbitration disputes with the online cinema Okko.
