Boeing’s revenue in 2023 grew by 17% – Kommersant

Today, January 31, the American aerospace corporation Boeing presented reporting for the fourth quarter and 2023 as a whole. In the fourth quarter, the company’s revenue increased by 10%, amounting to $22 billion. Boeing also significantly reduced its net loss – from $663 million in the fourth quarter of 2023 to $30 million. Annual revenue increased by 17%, to $77.8 billion. The company ended the year with a net loss of $2.2 billion – against a loss of $5.1 billion a year earlier. In the fourth quarter, Boeing delivered 157 new aircraft and received orders for 611, for the year as a whole, these figures were 528 and 1,576 aircraft, respectively.
However, Boeing said it would not make a forecast for 2024 for now. It’s connected with incident with an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 9 whose emergency exit door opened during a flight on January 6. After the incident, the US Federal Aviation Administration decided suspend operation of selected Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft for inspections. Due to this situation, aircraft deliveries may slow down.
At the same time, the quarterly results turned out to be slightly better than analysts’ expectations, so after the publication of the results, Boeing shares rose by 3.3%. Since the beginning of the year, the company’s shares have decreased by almost 20%.
