Bloomberg: Tinkov asked the UK government to lift sanctions from him

Entrepreneur, founder of Tinkoff Bank Oleg Tinkov officially applied to the British Foreign Office with a request to remove him from the anti-Russian sanctions list, writes Bloomberg.
“Removing sanctions from me would be fair and would give a signal that Western sanctions are not directed against all Russians,” the agency cites a fragment of Tinkov’s statement.
The British Foreign Office, in response to a relevant request from the agency, said that it does not comment on individual sanctions. “Every individual or legal entity that has been sanctioned has the right to challenge this decision, and there is a clear legal path for this,” the ministry said.
In March 2022 Tinkov hit under UK sanctions. Then restrictions were imposed on the head of Sberbank German Gref, the first deputy chairman of the board of the bank Alexander Vedyakhin, the former deputy chairman Lev Khasis, businessman Yevgeny Shvidler, and others.
On October 31, 2022, it became known that Tinkov had renounced Russian citizenship.
