Became known the details of the new season of the OTR channel

– This year, our Russian television found itself in a completely new situation for itself. Many old approaches have suddenly lost their relevance, and the new season on the channels is largely reformatory. Were the realities of the time taken into account when preparing the new OTR season?

— This year has been really difficult, but interesting. New challenges, new reality. Probably, for the first time, TV channels changed the broadcasting schedule so often, gave so much information live. But, fortunately, OTP got used to such work and was ready: we have been working in the format of an information channel for almost nine years, when our flagship, the Reflection program, goes live six hours a day, and we discuss with experts what what is happening right now. Unless the density of the ether has changed due to the new information agenda.

– What programs are now considered the most important on the channel?

– Our broadcasts are built together with the audience, we do not work for some abstract goal and task. For example, the sharp, discussion program “Club of chief editors with Pavel Gusev” at the request of the audience moved to 19.00 Sunday. In it, several media executives and masters of journalism invite a guest on the hottest topic of the week – and ask him uncomfortable questions.

There was a program “Rectorate” with Anatoly Torkunov, the rector of MGIMO: the leaders of the country’s universities, those on whom the trajectory of the development of Russian education largely depends, discuss the problems of universities and colleges. Last season we exhibited more than 10 premiere projects, and today they, as they say, have been tested. Of the audience favorites – “Light and Shadows”, a smart, interesting program by Leonid Mlechin about mysteries from the life of celebrities of the past.

Sincere, sincere transfer of Victor Loshak “Very personal” – interviews with famous people. It would seem that the genre is well-known and understandable. But the transmission rests on personalities. And Viktor Grigoryevich has a rare gift of an interviewer – to position the interlocutor in such a way, to ask such questions that he will not only talk about himself without concealment – he will think on the air.

Another of the novelties that were well received was the program “Constructors of the Future”: these are not utopian dreams, but real predictions about what realities we will live in in five to ten years, based on modern developments of scientists.

– Among the premieres of the new season, a project dedicated to poetry has been announced. Why was poetry chosen?

– “Country of Poets” is a big project that came up with Vitaly Nikitich Ignatenko. Many people love poetry, and this love does not depend on age, profession, hobbies. So why not ask our viewers to read their favorite poems on camera? They formed a simple wish: a poem of three to seven quatrains, filmed in several takes. And we also wanted the person himself to be clear: who he is, what region he lives in, what he works with, what he loves. The poem is important, and the one who reads it. Therefore, we have a stewardess on board the aircraft, a tractor driver is driving, in the field, a paratrooper is a few seconds after landing, a reindeer herder is in a national costume. If a famous person wants to read a poem, we take it with great pleasure. That is, there are no restrictions: read poems and share them.

How different are the poetic tastes of young people from those of older people?

– It is rather difficult to trace the trend by age: say, young people prefer Marina Tsvetaeva, and older people prefer Alexander Pushkin. One young girl with us was reading Gabriel Derzhavin. What is more interesting: people know poetry well and understand it. The main surprise is that we did not suspect that we have so many people who read poetry well. A welder reciting “The Ballad of a Smoky Carriage” by Alexander Kochetkov, or a resuscitator with Gumilyov’s “Giraffe” – not verified in an actor’s way, but with a soul, sometimes to tears.

– It can be assumed that the Classics Game project can become a kind of educational program for those who are not strong in the history of our cinema. And a great gift for those who are passionate about this topic. In your opinion, is there a chance to captivate young viewers with stories about the classics of Soviet cinema?

— Each issue of the Classics Game is dedicated to one of the best directors in our country. The authors show his diploma film, analyze the path he went from student to master. Then the audience is offered to watch an already mature work, a film beloved by many. For example, the first issue is about Andrei Tarkovsky. His first term paper, The Killers, based on a story by Ernest Hemingway, is surprisingly strong for a novice creator, touching, and imaginative. And then we will show the director’s version of “Andrei Rublev”, without cuts, – “Passion for Andrei.” It is now “Andrei Rublev” – a recognized classic, included in the golden fund of world cinema, and upon release, the film was accused of gloom, excessive naturalism, remounted several times, reduced, and then completely sent to the shelf. And so Mosfilm restored the original version, created by Andrei Tarkovsky. The film “Killers” will be shown on federal air for the first time, “Passion for Andrei” also just recently left the restoration workshop. This project was conceived in collaboration with VGIK, which carefully preserves all the work of its students. Will it enthrall? You see how the director’s style was created from simple creative strokes, at first a little naive, but understandable, you realize how and why it became more complicated. And you perceive your favorite film more fully.

– Now many channels have shows about travel, but in the case of OTP, the plot of the travel project Volga. The main street of the country” is being built around the Volga River. Isn’t there some kind of limitation in views here?

– “Volga. The main street of the country” is not about travel. Rather, it is a cycle of films about how and with what people live on the banks of the great river. We walked the entire river, from source to mouth. They deliberately bypassed the big cities – they were already told so much about them. But we came across such places that even I, an experienced traveler who traveled half the world, admired. And I wondered why there is so little information about them, here there would be no end to tourists if they entered some kind of “bronze ring of Russia” or just flickered on federal channels. For example, who was on the Volga Stolbichi? These are such fragile rocks of stunning beauty, supporting the banks of the Volga in the form of columns. Or at the tiny Syzran hydroelectric power station – the oldest in the Volga region and not rebuilt since 1929? And everywhere, without exception, we met people who were sincerely in love with their native lands. And it is interesting to talk with such people, bright, solid, even just about life.

— Will there be cycles about other places in Russia?

– Absolutely. We want to do a big project about the Northern Sea Route next year. And see how people live on other rivers – the Lena, the Yenisei …
