Farewell to People’s Artist of the USSR Yuri Solomin began in Moscow. An open coffin with an actor was installed on the stage of the Maly Theater, while almost the entire stage was filled with mourning wreaths.

One of the first to speak at the ceremony was the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin.

“The whole of Russia is mourning, seeing off Solomin on his last journey. They speak of him not only as a great artist, but also as a citizen and patriot,” said a high-ranking security official.

Bastrykin also addressed theater youth, urging them to follow the example of great teachers. And at the same time I remembered that Solomin brilliantly played law enforcement officers.

An endless stream of spectators and people in uniform walk past the stage, leaving flowers and approaching the coffin.

The appearance of Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin apparently explains the security measures taken: at the entrance, even journalists are checked extremely carefully, checking documents and lists of invitees.

It is worth noting that at the moment when the host of the ceremony read out a telegram from President Vladimir Putin, where they talked about the nation’s love for Solomin, a spectator standing in the hall started a squabble due to lack of space.
