British street artist Banksy has confirmed the authorship of seven graffiti that were noticed in several Ukrainian cities last week.
Murals, similar in style to the works of the famous anonymous artist, were noticed last week on the walls of structures and destroyed buildings, including in Kyiv, Borodyanka and Irpin. Speculation about authorship continued for several days, because Banksy has many imitators. How writes The Art Newspaper, the artist has now confirmed that he is the one who created the drawings. Apparently, it was not difficult for Banksy to arrive in Ukraine incognito, since his identity has not yet been reliably established.
In Kyiv, the artist painted two children swinging like on a swing on an anti-tank hedgehog. He also used a schematic representation of the penis, drawn on the wall of the building, adding to it a military truck. In Borodyanka, a drawing of a boy in a sports kimono appeared, throwing an adult opponent to the shoulder blades. A gymnast also appeared here, leaning on the destroyed structures of the building. In Irpen, a gymnast was depicted, as if standing on a ball on a hole from a projectile. In Gostomel, Banksy painted a woman with a fire extinguisher in a gas mask. In Gorenka, a drawing of a bearded man taking a bath was seen.
