In November, Russian banks recorded a decrease in the average bill of their clients for taxi trips, follows from the responses of credit institutions to a request RBC. On September 1, the taxi law came into force, which tightened the requirements for drivers.
Thus, according to VTB, in Russia the average trip bill in November compared to August decreased by 3%, to 384 rubles, and compared to November 2022 increased by 25%. Russian Standard Bank reported a decrease in the average bill for taxi services last month by 4% compared to August, to 455 rubles.
According to the Tinkoff Data analysis, which was carried out on the basis of anonymized transactions of Tinkoff Bank clients, the average check in the period from November 1 to November 23 was 343 rubles, which is 8% less than in August and 21% higher than in November 2022. Tinkoff recorded an increase in the average check compared to November 2022 in all regions of Russia. Significant growth is observed in the Khabarovsk Territory (+56%, up to 297 rubles), Rostov (+34%, up to 302 rubles) and Kirov regions (+33%, up to 229 rubles). In Moscow, the average bill was 585 rubles. (+25%).
At the same time, Yandex Taxi stated that the average cost per minute of travel in Moscow and the Moscow region increased by 19% over the year, to 28 rubles. In St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, the price per minute increased by 21%, to 23 rubles. The company emphasized that the price increase was affected by a shortage of drivers and rising costs.
On September 1, changes to the federal law “On the organization of transportation of passengers and luggage by passenger taxis” came into force. The document was prepared by the Ministry of Transport and State Duma deputies. The law introduced a large number of regulations aimed at strengthening control over taxi drivers and reducing accident rates.
For example, now drivers with an outstanding criminal record and three or more unpaid fines (the day before the trip) are prohibited from driving a taxi. Also, for the first time, the responsibility of order aggregators for harm to the life, health or property of a passenger was introduced in the event that the order was transferred to a taxi driver who did not have a work permit.
