Retail chains are almost out of Bacardi rum, Gray Goose vodka and Bombay Sapphire gin – brands of the transnational alcohol company Bacardi Limited, reports RBC. Official supplies of Bacardi have been discontinued.

We are talking about the assortment in the X5 Group stores (Chizhik, Pyaterochka, Perekrestok), Magnit, Krasnoy&Bely and the online showcase of the WineStyle alcohol chain. According to X5 Group, the group also stopped exporting Aberfeldy whiskey and Patron tequila to Russia.

Bacardi Limited stopped supplies of a number of brands to Russia at the beginning of 2023. As experts explain, the stores sold stocks that were mainly sent to catering establishments.

According to experts, Bacardi now continues to supply vermouth and sparkling wines to Russia under the Martini brand. This was also confirmed by X5 Group. At the same time, a number of Bacardi brands are still sold in Russia – Dewar’s and William Lawson’s whiskey, Oakheart rum. The last two are bottled in Russia.

After the cessation of supplies of the group’s key brands, the Russian subsidiary Bacardi Rus LLC received a net profit of up to 1.5 billion rubles in 2023. This is the worst figure since 2019.

After the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine, almost all of the world’s largest alcohol producers left Russia – Diageo (Johnnie Walker, Guinness, Smirnoff, Baileys), Pernod Ricard (Chivas, Jameson, Ballantine’s, Beefeater, Olmeca, Absolut), Brown-Forman (Jack Daniel’s ), Beam Suntory (Jim Beam), etc.
