Azur Air has launched direct flights from St. Petersburg to Thailand for the first time since 2020, the press service of the Pulkovo airport management company “Air Gates of the Northern Capital” reports.
“The air route connected St. Petersburg and Phuket. The carrier will operate flights every 11-12 days as part of the tourism program,” the press service said (quote according to TASS).
Flights to Phuket will be carried out on a Boeing 767-300 aircraft, tickets for flights can be purchased as part of travel packages, the press service noted.
On October 30, Aeroflot’s first flight since the beginning of March landed in Phuket. The break was due to Western sanctions that were imposed on Russia after the start of a special military operation in Ukraine. Prior to this, air traffic was almost completely absent amid restrictions due to the spread of COVID-19. After the restoration of direct flights from Russia, 20,453 people arrived on the island from 1 to 11 November.
At the end of November it became known thatAeroflotlaunched flights to Thailand from Vladivostok. Residents of Khabarovsk, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Magadan will also be able to fly to Thailand with a transfer in Vladivostok, Irina Lapitskaya, director of the Far Eastern branch of Aeroflot, added.
