Axios: Billionaire Bloomberg wants to buy Dow Jones or Washington Post

American billionaire Michael Bloomberg is interested in acquiring Dow Jones, which owns the Wall Street Journal business publication, or the Washington Post, transmits Axios citing the source.
“Bloomberg would be interested in a potential acquisition of either of the two assets, but Dow Jones, publisher of financial newspapers such as The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s and MarketWatch, would be a more attractive target,” the source notes.
The publication points out that Bloomberg is close to Dow Jones owner Rupert Murdoch, and is “friendly, though not close” to Jeff Bezos, who owns the Washington Post.
Buying Dow Jones will help Bloomberg sell more subscriptions to the Bloomberg terminal, through which you can access stock prices, Bloomberg news feed and other financial data, the publication said.
Dow Jones is currently part of Rupert Murdoch’s media holding News Corp, which is trying to merge News Corp with Fox Corporation. According to the source, Bloomberg himself believes that this will not work.
