“We are asking for a prolongation of the program of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to subsidize the sales of gas-powered vehicles. This program exists. She is working successfully. <...> The program runs until the end of 2024, and we very much hope that it will be continued until 2030,” Gromak said at a meeting in the Federation Council.
The Vice President specified that the extension will ensure “stable production planning for gas-powered vehicles in all segments.” In addition, Gromak noted the importance of proper funding for this program.
In the summer of 2022 the government released a resolution on subsidizing about half of the costs of businesses and citizens for the transfer of transport from gasoline to methane. According to the introduced measures, it is supposed to increase the subsidy standards from 24% to 48% of the total cost of work.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade studied the possibility of reducing the amount of subsidies for liquefied natural gas (LNG) equipment at the end of 2021, then about this wrote “Kommersant”. The ministry noted that this would reduce the cost of the state budget per unit of such equipment, as well as increase the efficiency of providing subsidies.
