Avtodom bought a Mercedes plant in the Moscow region

Dealer holding Avtodom closed a deal to buy Russian assets of the German automaker Mercedes-Benz, including a plant in the Moscow region. About it informed Interfax with reference to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities.
It is specified that the transaction was closed the day before, on April 18. As a result, Avtodom became the owner of a 100% stake in the Moscow region enterprise Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Rus and the company that was engaged in leasing, factoring and insurance of Mercedes-Benz Capital Rus cars. Data on other assets in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities is not yet available.
Other assets acquired by Avtodom as part of this transaction include shares in Mercedes-Benz Rus JSC (official distributor in Russia), Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Rus LLC (leasing subsidiary) and Mercedes-Benz Rus LLC (leasing subsidiary). In December, Andrey Olkhovsky, General Director of Avtodom, saidthat the company plans to close the deal within a month. According to him, it was planned to launch the production of cars at the plant, since it is narrowly focused on the specifics of production. Olkhovsky also noted that production at the enterprise can be restored in 8-9 months after the approval of the new brand.
Mercedes launched a plant located in the Esipovo industrial park (Solnechnogorsk district of the Moscow region) on April 3, 2019. The declared investment amounted to at least 15 billion rubles. The plant is designed to produce 25,000-30,000 premium cars per year. The production site has been idle since the beginning of March.
