The demand for daily rent of houses, dachas, cottages and townhouses among Russians in the first quarter of 2023 increased by 80.9% compared to the same period in 2022, follows from Avito Real Estate data. At the same time, the cost of daily rent of suburban real estate for this period increased by 16% and amounted to 5800 rubles. per night.
Houses and cottages are in the greatest demand among Russians. 66% and 30% of Russians, respectively, show interest in renting them. Dachas account for 1.6% of demand, townhouses – 2.6%. The demand for daily rent of suburban real estate in Sochi grew the most during the year — by 265.4%. The greatest decrease in the interest of Russians was recorded for short-term rental housing in Sevastopol (-36%).
“The growth in demand in the market for short-term rental of suburban real estate is due to the fact that Russians have begun to give more preference to domestic tourism. Therefore, it is obvious that the resorts are of the greatest interest,” said Artem Kromochkin, head of the platform’s short-term rental department.
The cost of daily rent of dachas, cottages and townhouses in Russia increased by 16% over the quarter. The most expensive thing for Russians will be renting a cottage – 9 thousand rubles. A house and a dacha can be rented for a day for 5,000 rubles, and a townhouse for 4,000 rubles. The most significant increase in the year was the cost of rent in Volgograd – by 33.2%, and decreased in Yekaterinburg and Rostov-on-Don – by 16.7%.
The high demand for trips around Russia and the desire of travelers to save money contributed to an increase in interest in short-term apartment rentals. Over the year, tourist rentals have risen in price by 18-25%, exceeding the rate of price growth in hotels.
