According to the Austrian oil and gas company OMV, Gazprom supplied Austria with only 30% of the gas ordered on Monday. In June, the company agreed to pay for Russian gas in rubles.
“Gas volumes today correspond to approximately 30% of the volume nominated by OMV for Austria in accordance with the contract,” company representatives told RIA Novosti.
On September 2, Gazprom announced the shutdown of the Nord Stream gas pipeline for an indefinite period due to an identified oil leak. Later Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov informedthat problems with pumping are due to the influence of anti-Russian sanctions, after the removal of which the export of the resource may recover.
