DP World Australia, Australia’s largest seaport operator, has resumed full operations, reports Reuters. The operation of several ports was suspended last Friday due to a cyber attack on the company’s servers.
Terminals operated by DP World Australia account for approximately 40% of all cargo arriving and departing from Australia. Due to the failure, the arrival or departure of more than 30 thousand containers were delayed. Australian police are investigating the cyber attack.
The company said it tested “all key systems” last night and resumed port operations. True, so far in a limited mode. DP World Australia expects to send and receive just 5,000 containers in the next 24 hours through the four ports the company operates. This is less than a quarter of the normal amount of work performed by the company per day.
