Russian video game publisher Astrum Entertainment has replaced its CEO, the company said in a statement received by Kommersant. Alexey Izotov became the new CEO of the company; before his appointment, he headed the publishing department at Mail.ru Group and My.Games.
“Alexey Izotov held key positions within the gaming block of Mail.ru Group, including the position of head of publishing and game development for PCs and consoles. In his positions, Alexey took part in bringing large gaming projects to the market and gained extensive experience working with foreign partners, including from Asian countries,” the company said in a statement. Mr. Izotov replaced Sergei Efremov, who will take the position of chief operating officer of the company.
Astrum Entertainment (Astrum LLC), according to SPARK Interfax, was established in January 2022 by structures of the VK holding (until January 2023, the legal entity was called May Games LLC). After My.Games was in 2022 sold VK Alexandru Chachava, and then announced her departure from the Russian market, Astrum Entertainment started receiving on a non-cash basis, part of the gaming assets of My.Games.
In particular, the publishing rights in Russia for such games as Warface, Perfect World, Lost Ark, Battle Teams 2, etc. were transferred to Astrum. In addition, the structure of the company changed: from December 2022, its founder was JSC Multiplier Group, which belongs to a certain Kirill Primakov. In addition, the JSC began to enter companies that position themselves as game developers: Smartfonio LLC, Imbacode LLC, etc.
