Association (non-profit partnership) “Community of Energy Consumers” is an industrial lobbying organization, created in the autumn of 2008 by the end of the reform of RAO “UES of Russia”. The main goal is to protect the interests of the companies that are members of the association at industry sites and in federal authorities that regulate the development of the energy sector. The partnership includes 34 energy-intensive industrial companies from different sectors of the economy. The total electricity consumption of the association members is more than 250 billion kWh per year, more than half of all industrial consumption in the Russian Federation. The Association consists of two chambers – large consumers (annual consumption – from 2 billion kWh) and medium and small consumers (from 8 million kWh per year).
