Three unusual art objects appeared on the streets of Yekaterinburg. Their author is a young musician, and now a street artist, Vika Radiseva. The installations are made in the form of red boxes, in which fire extinguishers are usually installed, only inside there are medical oxygen cylinders.
“When you run out of air, you can give in to the fear of death or the lust for life. They walk side by side, overshadowing your sober mind and forcing you to make choices that sometimes you don’t have time to think about. But there are always options: you either breathe in panic or save oxygen to give yourself a chance to figure out how to get out. Give yourself a chance to breathe deeply again one day,” the girl said about her artistic statement.
To MK’s question about whether it is possible to use oxygen cylinders, or whether there is a dummy inside the boxes, and this is a pure creative statement, she replied: “This is a pure statement and a medical oxygen cylinder.” That is, in case of lack of air, you can use it.
According to the author, the impetus for the creation of street art objects was the feeling that “you seem to be suffocating among the disturbing news and the unknown of tomorrow.”
