Alexander Semchev became director of the theater

Popular artist Alexander Semchev, who was recently awarded the title of People of Russia by presidential decree, tried on the role of a real person living among us. And this man came to Moscow to see how he looked in Semchev’s performance. The unique experience of Konstantin Bogomolov – “Voices of the Country” – opens a new page in the national documentary theater.

Yes, this is exactly how it happens: not to some star, famous blogger/streamer, Instagrammer and other slackers, but to ordinary people living among us, a small creative group consisting of a playwright, director and photographer comes. A person tells them the story of his life, and based on it, the team creates a performance. More precisely, a one-man show. One of these heroes, who, of course, do not consider themselves heroes, was found in the small town of Buinsk, 200 km from Kazan. His name is Rail Sadriev.

A historian by training, a serious student of the path of Christ, and in the 90s engaged in business, he made an incredible somersault – in his native Buinsk, where there are only 19 thousand inhabitants, he built a theater. A real one – with a troupe of 22 people, with a hall for 400 seats, with all the necessary workshops and services. And before him, it must be said that the theater business was developing in Buinsk, but it was he, Rail Sadriev, who built the modern theater. A bright, temperamental personality, it is not surprising that in the end he himself went on stage in his theater and immediately performed a one-man show “Dervish”. For just over an hour, he alone holds the room with his energy. And what would you think – this work of his was included in the shortlist of the national theater award “Golden Mask”. He, an amateur, has serious competitors in the form of, among other things, the capital’s theaters. These are the people who become heroes of modern drama today. And his life, full of adventures, is now played by Alexander Semchev.

Rail is one of the last heroes of the “Voices of the Country” project. Alexandra Rebenok has already introduced an etiquette specialist; Alexandra Ursulyak was a pensioner who once worked as an occupational safety engineer. Anastasia Svetlova spoke on behalf of the wife of a garbage truck driver from Novosibirsk, and Igor Mirkurbanov spoke on behalf of the doctor.
