Arms exports from Russia in 2021 amounted to $14.6 billion

Russia has “fully implemented the plan” for the supply of weapons in 2021. The amount of exports amounted to $14.6 billion, Dmitry Shugaev, head of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation, announced this at the Army-2022 forum.
“The annual plan was fully implemented, weapons and military equipment were delivered to foreign partners in the amount equivalent to 14.6 billion US dollars,” said Mr. Shugaev (quoted by RIA Novosti).
According to the head of the service, over the past ten years, Russia has maintained a level of supplies worth $14-15 billion.
According to the Russian yearbook Arms, Disarmament and International Security 2020, Russia exports weapons to Syria, Iraq, Egypt, India, China, Algeria, and Kazakhstan.
For 2017–2021 Russia took second place in world arms exports – its share was 19%. The first place belongs to the USA (39%), the third – to France (11%), the fourth – to China (4.6%), the fifth – to Germany (4.5%). Despite the second position in the rating, supplies from the Russian Federation decreased by 26% compared to previous years.
