Armenia has overtaken Kazakhstan and Georgia in terms of transfers from Russia – Kommersant

The volume of remittances from Russians to Georgia and Kazakhstan at the end of August decreased significantly compared to a year earlier. Armenia took first place in this indicator. Transfers from Russians to this country in August amounted to almost 33 billion rubles. This follows from the analysis RBC data from central banks.
In August 2023, the Russians transferred to Armenia RUB 32.8 billion, or 618.9% of the average monthly volume of transfers for 2021. Moreover, in September 2022, against the backdrop of the announcement of partial mobilization in Russia, Russians transferred 24.8 billion rubles to this country. (467.9%), in October – 29.7 billion rubles. (560.4%). In total, from September 2022 to August 2023, 322.1 billion rubles were transferred from Russia to Armenia.
Money transfers from Russia to Georgia in August of this year amounted to 5.7 billion rubles. (228%). At the same time, compared to last year’s figures, the volume of cross-border transfers has decreased significantly. Thus, in October 2022, Russians transferred 736% of the monthly average in 2021, in December – 840%. In the year since the announcement of partial mobilization, remittances from Russians to Georgia amounted to 167 billion rubles.
IN Kazakhstan in August 2023, Russians sent 1.6 billion rubles. — 207.9% of the monthly average in 2021. In October 2022, transfers were 726.3% of 2021 levels. From September last year to August this year, 31.68 billion rubles were sent from Russia to Kazakhstan.
At the end of August, a new system of money transfers abroad appeared in Russia – Kwikpay. With its help, you can send funds to the CIS countries and some European countries. The system works with Visa, Mastercard and Mir cards. Without opening a bank account, clients can make transfers in rubles, dollars and euros. However, payments through banks can only be made in rubles, and the commission can reach 5%.
