Yandex co-founder Arkady Volozh told employees that he was leaving the company. The text of Mr. Volozh’s appeal was distributed on the company’s internal portal, it was published by The Bell Telegram channel (included in the register of foreign agents) and RBC. “Kommersant” confirmed this information in “Yandex”.
In his appeal, Mr. Volozh reminded employees that he had not managed the Russian Yandex for a long time and had left all positions in the company. He stated that the board of directors and management are developing a plan for the restructuring of Yandex. “In the current conditions, it seems to me that it is quite reasonable and necessary,” the entrepreneur noted. Mr. Volozh also said that he is still interested in giving advice to international startups that can develop outside of Yandex.
“Yandex is the project of my life. And not only mine. All these 30 years, we have been building it together from scratch, in a globally competitive environment, striving to be open and honest. Thanks to everyone who built and is building the best technology company in the country. I love and hug you all. I miss you very much. May the New Year bring peace to all,” Mr. Volozh concluded.

In July, the media reported that Yandex is negotiating with co-founder of the company Arkady Volozh about the division of part of the assets. In September, Forbes wrote that Mr. Volozh offered Alexei Kudrin, who then served as chairman of the Accounts Chamber, 5% of the company through options if he moved to Yandex. In early December, Mr. Kudrin accepted Yandex’s offer to become a corporate development advisor.
