Approximately 1.2 million people were left without electricity due to bad weather in several regions of Russia. Full restoration of power supply will take from two to three days, said Deputy Head of the Ministry of Energy Yevgeny Grabchak on the TV channel “Russia 24”.
“1.9 million in five regions of the Russian Federation were without power, currently this is about 1.2 million people. This is mainly the Southern Federal District, the North Caucasus Federal District, the Republic of Dagestan, Crimea, the Krasnodar Territory, the Kherson, Zaporozhye regions, the LPR, the DPR, the Rostov region,” he said (quoted from TASS).
A powerful storm hit the Krasnodar region and the Crimean peninsula. A state of emergency was declared in Crimea due to the storm. Several roads were flooded and some houses were destroyed. Due to bad weather in southern Russia, four people died and more than ten people were injured.
