Apple plans to keep iPhone shipments at last year’s level

Apple is asking suppliers to produce about 85 million iPhone 15s this year, roughly the same as the previous year. About it informs Bloomberg.
According to the agency interlocutors, the company strives to maintain stable supply, despite the turmoil in the global economy and the projected decline in the smartphone market in general. At the same time, Apple plans to increase revenue and is considering raising prices for Pro models.
The company has slashed sales forecasts for its budget smartphones by about 2 million this year due to problems with CMOS image sensors, but increased orders for more expensive Pro models, the agency’s sources said.
According to Counterpoint Research, global smartphone sales have been falling for eight consecutive quarters, including 8% in April-June. In the past quarter, sales of Chinese brands Vivo and Xiaomi fell by more than 10%, while Apple’s sales fell by only 2%.
How told To Vedomosti, Vice President of M.Video-Eldorado Tagir Kalimullin, sales of A-brands of smartphones (not including Chinese ones), i.e. the most expensive Apple devices and Samsung, in piece terms dropped to 25% of the total market. According to him, back in 2021, for example, sales of flagship devices of these brands in money terms reached 70%, but now only about 50% of the entire smartphone market is in money. This is comparable to the state of the market in 2013, Tagir Kalimullin noted.
