The American corporation Apple has obliged employees to return to work from the office from September 5, transmits Bloomberg, citing an internal letter from company management. It is specified that this is another attempt to return employees to the office after numerous unsuccessful attempts to return to the pre-pandemic mode of operation, which were postponed due to new outbreaks of COVID-19.
According to the agency, employees will have to come to the office at least three times a week – on Tuesday, Thursday and another day to be agreed for each department. The new rules will be introduced primarily for Silicon Valley employees, and then extended to other Apple offices.
In recent months, employees came to the office only twice a week, the rest of the time they worked from home. In particular, in June 2021, the management of a company in California tried to return employees from the remote work format, which was established at the beginning of the pandemic, at least three days a week to the office, however, due to regular outbreaks of new strains of the virus, only two-day working week in the office, the rest of the days employees continued to work from home.
Earlier, Apple removed the requirement to wear masks in offices. In addition, the signal for a return to normal operation was also the fact that in June of this year, the company’s management gathered on campus to watch the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) – for the first time since 2019.
Returning to the office is necessary, among other things, to prepare the presentation of the iPhone 14 and updated models of watches and MacBooks. The presentation traditionally takes place in September.
