Altov and Vorobey revealed the phenomenon of Regina Dubovitskaya

– Thank God that she exists. This means we are living,” editor and screenwriter Regina Dubovitskaya says about criticism of her program in an interview with MK. – We always have high ratings, we have a lot of viewers, so everything is fine.

– What numbers and artists can we expect in the new issue?

– This will be a New Year’s edition, with all our artists who always perform at Full House. The team is the same from people whom I found at one time, and then they grew up on our program. But one surprise awaits the audience – there will be a new artist. By the way, Elena Vorobey will have two issues in this issue. She is a very good artist.

– How do you even live now?

– How am I living? I have one husband for the rest of my life – who cares? Everyone is interested in divorces, when they divide something, but we live and share nothing. I don’t have time now, I’m installing everything myself,” Dubovitskaya noted.

In a conversation with us, the TV presenter was laconic – on the eve of the New Year’s broadcast, she had no time for an interview. Her “goddaughter”, a comedian and a famous satirist, helped us out.

“I’ve never been to Regina,” said Semyon Altov, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, screenwriter, playwright and director, in a conversation with MK. – We just present slightly different directions of humor. Although both are, of course, necessary and in demand in this huge country. I can perfectly imagine that someone, hearing my characteristic timbre, immediately turns off the TV. This is fine.

Regina was the manager, she organized this program “Full House” and for so many years many popular and needed artists came out of it for the country, for which they should be eternally grateful to her. Because this is how it is in Rus’ and, probably, all over the world: you appear on the screen, they get used to you, they begin to love you and they can no longer live without you.

Stars of the previous time – Volodya Vinokur, Danilets and Moiseenko, Gennady Vetrov. Sparrow, our Yura Galtsev, I don’t even remember them all – they all flew out of “Full House” as chicks. Regina gave them a start in life. There are so many people that the country needs – today even, perhaps especially – to lift the mood a little. Yura Galtsev already has his own theater in St. Petersburg. Efim Shifrin also created the artistic “Shifrin Theater”. Respectable people with their status already have a humorous business. If there had not been “Full House,” we would not have seen, recognized, or loved many of them.

– How can we explain the resounding success of “Full House” in the late 80s?

– There were fewer comic colors back then. Not like recently, when every TV channel acquired a program on this topic. And there were really capable guys there – in a certain genre, in a certain accessibility of jokes, which is very important for a specific, very wide audience. Zhvanetsky has never been in “Full House” – it is not for everyone: thought, pace, paradox – everything about it is different.

– Why do critics of “Full House” blame the program for the “mass dulling of society”?

“I don’t think humor would take on such a lofty task of dumbing down society.” We have many other structures doing this. To be dumbfounded by humor in the context of everything else is too high a task. No. “Full House” was designed for a specific audience that understood it. To say that they are stupid seems somehow tactless. There are people with no sense of humor at all. Many of them achieved very great heights. The more seriously you take yourself, the more likely you are to climb the corporate ladder.

– What is the phenomenon of Regina Dubovitskaya?

– Firstly, it’s character. Because organizing anything is always difficult. There were always obstacles and people who put spokes in the wheels. She is a female organizer, which doesn’t happen very often. She managed to do it. This is her main merit.

And how wonderfully she laughs, amazingly sincerely? This is not that she gives a sign to the viewer that this is funny, but this is not funny. She is a funny person in the good sense of the word.

– Regina Dubovitskaya actually saw the death of the genre that she created. Now she is restarting, reformatting, editing the New Year’s broadcast. Do you believe in the rebirth of Full House?

– Time goes on and on. Now there are a lot of stand-up comedians, among them there are very talented guys. “Bulldog” Kharlamov is simply a comedian from God. There are also several such people there. Female stand-up comedians with absolutely masculine vocabulary – this offends me a little. I believe that a woman should be different from a man, including in humor.

And so, these young “comedy club” guys, who are 40-50 years old, set the direction. Humor becomes different, it becomes shorter and shorter. I once had a story, “The Bribe,” which was famous in its time (1980 – author). It lasted 20 minutes and people listened and applauded, although many viewers knew its plot. Over time, I began to shorten it: 16, 12, 10 minutes. Now likes and SMS are all at this level. Therefore, I don’t know whether it will be possible to resume Full House. Like archival memories, like a retro program, I’m sure it will certainly find its audience. And trying to joke today using old means about the present time – I’m not sure of the success of this. Still, humor, like our whole life, has changed significantly due to all these mobile phones and the Internet. God willing! In any case, I wish her good luck.

I don’t know her plan, how she’s going to revive it, but it’s unlikely in its previous form. Like the suits that were worn 20 years ago, you have to wait until they come into fashion again. Fashion and humor change with us.

“Our first meeting took place 20 years ago,” Honored Artist of Russia, actress, singer and parodist Elena Vorobey told MK. – I came to the “Full House” office for the so-called “brainstorming”, where the author’s group of the program – Izmailov, Drobotenko, Trushkin, Koklyushkin, Russ – gathered at one table. At the head of the High Assembly sat a small, fragile woman, Regina Igorevna Dubovitskaya. She seemed completely different to me than on TV – not a laughing woman at all, but a strict, demanding girl who is not easy to make laugh. And I was not mistaken.

But with all this, she and only she is the real locomotive of the program, our driving force, motivating and inspiring. Regina Igorevna knows exactly what her brainchild should look like. And for more than 30 years he has been skillfully putting together humorous puzzles into a single program, loved by millions of viewers! Regina, with the instinct of an experienced geologist, finds “nuggets” of talented people and brings them to a large audience. We, the so-called Full House members, came from different cities and villages and received a “registration” for Full House and the opportunity for many years of cooperation, and yes, we drew a lucky lottery ticket.

– Did you have any disagreements with the presenter of “Full House”?

– The first performance was almost a struggle for me. This was another trip of “Full House” along the Volga. A week on a ship with legendary comedians seemed like an endless week of anticipation. Every evening the artists went ashore, got into their cars, drove to the concert hall and gave a concert. Every evening I prepared costumes for my appearance in the program and every time I did not find my name in the program.

And this lasted for almost a week. The final concert remained. I’m practically hysterical.

I approached Vladimir Natanovich Vinokur. He saw that I had no face. And I’m his protégé. He was my supervisor in preparing a concert parody number. He saw that I was crying somewhere in the corner and asked what was wrong with me? I explained that I was not in the concert program. Regina, under the pretext that these are large venues and experienced artists appear on stage, pushed my performance back. And he went and put in a word for me. Thus, I only performed in the final concert. To be honest, they called me to bow, and Regina Igorevna, seeing how the audience accepted my parody block, left me on the air of the program. And she no longer blocked my exits on stage.

– What do you still remember with a smile?

– The variety number that made me famous is called “Well, take me.” He was born because Regina Igorevna ordered us… Me and Yura Galtseva. After the summer release of the “Full House in Lukhovitsy” program, Regina liked our clown-song number with Galtsev so much that when she let us go on vacation, she called me and Yura and said that she needed a new joint number in the New Year’s program. And Yura and I then went to America on tour. So the whole trip I had one thought spinning in my head – how to write the number, what it should be about. The tour was coming to an end, but the idea for the act never appeared. It was the last day of our trip, we were wandering the streets with Yuri’s friends, telling jokes, remembering our student years, remembering our favorite BUFF theater, in which both Yura and I first appeared on stage, and suddenly… I pestered Yuri with a question: hello, it is you?

Yura did not immediately understand what was happening. But when I turned to him for the third time, he answered in a funny voice, “Well, let’s say I”… “Well, take me,” I said a phrase that would later go among the people. Yura picked up the improvisation and replied: “Well, what are you doing? Have you seen which ones I take? The legs are two meters long, growing from the teeth… And you?” “And I’m growing,” I retorted. Our friends laughed until they cried, and Yura and I agreed at that very moment that I would complete the miniature in this vein and that we would show it in the New Year’s edition of Full House. Since that very concert, I have called Regina Igorevna the godmother of our duet.
