Since the beginning of 2022, 67,000 Russian citizens have opened bank accounts in Uzbekistan. This was announced by the Chairman of the Board of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan Mamarizo Nurmuratov during a briefing. According to him, about half of them remain and work on the territory of Uzbekistan.

Commenting on the practice of converting rubles into dollars by Russians in Uzbekistan, Mr. Nurmuratov said that such cases are “under the control” of the Central Bank of the country.
