37% of American companies that are victims of successful hacker attacks lose more than $100,000 as a result of these attacks. Such data is contained in report computer security company Atlas VPN. The authors of the report analyzed data Keeper Security’s annual survey of 516 top IT decision makers.

The share of companies that lose even more significant amounts as a result of hacker attacks is also quite large: 11% lose from $500,000 to $1 million, another 4% – more than $1 million. Only 14% of companies reported losses of less than $5,000. In addition to direct companies’ financial losses face other negative consequences of cyberattacks. 31% of respondents mentioned the failures in work with partners and clients connected with the attacks, 31% more – theft of financial information. 28% reported reputational losses due to cyberattacks.

According to analysts at Atlas VPN, the average American company is hacked 42 times a year and an average of 3 of them are successful.
