Almaz-Antey will start testing the first Russian offshore gas production equipment in 2023, said Artem Shatrakov, director of the concern’s civil production development department. The company intends to start deliveries to Gazprom before the end of the year.
Mr. Shatrakov said that the equipment developed by Almaz-Antey for Gazprom had never been produced either in the Russian Federation or in the USSR. “This is pure import substitution to ensure offshore oil and gas production,” he said.RIA News”.
The development of equipment has been going on for several years. Technical requirements have been defined with Gazprom, Almaz-Antey’s facilities have been prepared for production. “And this year we are entering the testing of this equipment and the serial delivery of the first sets,” said Mr. Shatrakov. In his opinion, this is “a fairly powerful technological breakthrough.”
In 2019, the heads of Gazprom and the Almaz-Antey East Kazakhstan concern signed a long-term contract for the supply of import-substituting products under guaranteed purchase volumes for future years. It was planned that the concern would supply Gazprom with its own equipment for underwater hydrocarbon production systems, as well as provide technical, service and repair services.
