Almaz-Antey has developed a multi-position system for monitoring drones, which also determines their coordinates, said the concern’s deputy general director Dmitry Savitsky. “We are talking about a multi-position surveillance system that combines various radio equipment for monitoring and controlling airspace and a common server for determining the coordinates and analyzing detected UAVs,” Mr. Savitsky said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
As the agency clarifies, the multi-position system includes several spatially separated radar stations. According to Dmitry Savitsky, they are choosing places to install new equipment in the Tomsk, Tyumen and Samara regions. The Moscow region is also being considered, and the possibility of integrating new equipment into the center of the Unified Air Traffic Management System is being decided.
