People’s Artist of Russia Alexander Lazarev has been appointed chief director of the Russian Army Theater. This was reported by the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense.
Alexander Lazarev graduated from the acting department of the Moscow Art Theater School. He is the leading artist of the Moscow State Theater “Lenkom”. He directed the performances “Funeral Prayer” and “Running,” and also has more than 20 theater roles and over 80 films to his credit. Among the most famous films with his participation: “Detectives” (TV series, 2001–2005), “The Scam” (2001), “The Idiot” (2003), “I Have the Honor!” (2004), “Crazy Day, or The Marriage of Figaro” (2005), “Admiral” (2008), “Zemsky Doctor” (TV series, 2010), “The Life and Adventures of Mishka Yaponchik” (TV series, 2011), “Ekaterina” ( TV series, 2014), “Union of Salvation” (2019). He is a laureate of the Stanislavsky Theater Prize and the Crystal Turandot.
The Central Academic Theater of the Russian Army has been operating since 1930.
