AFK Sistema will begin construction of a ski complex in Sheregesh in 2024

Press service of the Kuzbass government administration reportedthat AFK Sistema (MOEX: AFKS) plans to begin construction of a ski complex in Sheregesh on Mount Utuya in 2024. The governor of the region, Sergei Tsivilev, discussed the initiative with the managing partner of AFK Sistema, Alexander Shvein.
Mr. Tsivilev clarified that it is necessary to build an artificial reservoir on the territory of the complex to attract tourists. A congress center for holding forums and conferences, two helipads, a car park, a bath complex, shops, cafes, and a staff dormitory will also be built. The planned development area is 100 hectares.
In 2021, the government of Kuzbass and the Cosmos Hotel Group (part of AFK Sistema) entered into an agreement on the construction of the Cosmos Sheregesh hotel complex. The company plans to invest 1.2 billion rubles in this project. As part of the agreement, it is also planned to build a bathhouse complex and a cable car.
