Aeroflot increased passenger traffic by 16% in 2023 – Kommersant

Passenger traffic of the Aeroflot group of companies (MOEX: AFLT) amounted to 47.3 million people in 2023. It increased by 16.3% by 2022 and by 3.3% by 2021.
In addition to Aeroflot airline, Aeroflot Group also includes carriers Pobeda and Rossiya.
Operating results are published in Telegram channel groups. 37.7 million people were transported on domestic routes, which is 6.8% more than last year and comparable to the pre-crisis 2021 figure. On international routes, passenger traffic amounted to 9.6 million people – 4.2 million and 1.1 million more than in 2022 and 2021, respectively.
Passenger turnover (the product of the number of passengers and the distance traveled) increased by 25.4% by 2022, including by 33.6% for Aeroflot airline. Passenger seat occupancy increased by 3.9 percentage points and amounted to 87.5% – this is the highest annual figure for Aeroflot Group. On domestic lines the figure was 90%.
In December 2023, the group’s passenger traffic amounted to 3.7 million people (+22.3% compared to December 2022), of which Aeroflot airline carried 2.1 million (+37.3%). The group’s passenger turnover increased by 32%, and Aeroflot’s by 39.6%. Despite the low season, seat occupancy reached a record high level of 84.2% (+2.3 p.p.). Pobeda airline’s load was 92.4%.
