Access to the streaming entertainment system on Aeroflot aircraft Airbus A320CEO, suspended on December 1 due to the refusal of foreign suppliers to provide the service, has been resumed, informed Telegram channel of the air carrier.
“We have resumed connection to the streaming entertainment system on board the A320CEO ships (on personal gadgets via a local Wi-Fi connection),” the message says.
Access to this service was also suspended on the bot of Airbus 321 and Boeing 737 aircraft, the necessary software is “in line” there. The airline added that access to the stationary entertainment system in a number of aircraft has been preserved.
Since the beginning of the military operation on the territory of Ukraine, the EU countries and the United States have imposed a number of sanctions against the Russian aviation industry. Thus, Western countries closed their airspace to Russian aircraft. At the end of February, the European Union banned the sale of aircraft and spare parts to Russian airlines, and a ban was also introduced on insurance and maintenance of goods related to the aviation and space industries. Similar restrictions were introduced by the United States.
Former CEO of Aeroflot Sergey Alexandrovsky toldthat the group’s aircraft fleet has 357 aircraft, 13 of them were arrested abroad due to sanctions. The head of the company said that most of the aircraft were blocked during maintenance and international flights. He added that 89 of the company’s aircraft no longer have double registration. The air carrier has the opportunity to increase their number, and the company is currently dealing with this issue.
