Advertising agencies plan to change the terms of contracts, stipulating the possibility of unilaterally terminating contracts with bloggers recognized as foreign agents. About it RBC said two sources at major companies, as well as representatives of three advertising groups.
The NMi Group holding wants to stipulate the possibility of ending a contract with foreign agents, deleting publications, as well as compensation to the company after recognizing a blogger as a foreign agent. The communications agency OMD OM Group plans to refine and specify the existing wording, in particular, one of the options is to oblige the blogger to reimburse the company for a possible fine for advertising with his participation after receiving the status of a foreign agent.
Market participants interviewed by RBC believe that the amendments prohibiting advertising with foreign agents, which are currently being discussed in the State Duma, will create problems in working even with those who are not yet included in the Ministry of Justice register. They note that it is almost impossible to stop an advertising campaign immediately after receiving the status of a foreign agent. Therefore, according to lawyers, adjusting the provisions of contracts is the only way to protect yourself from potential fines.
On the eve of the State Duma in the second reading approved a bill banning advertising on foreign agents. The ban will apply to advertising on websites, blogs and social networks. The document will be considered in the third reading today, February 28.
