Actress Nemolyaeva: Modern cinema leaves much to be desired

Modern cinema leaves much to be desired, said Soviet and Russian theater and film actress Svetlana Nemolyaeva. She stated this in an interview with the publication “Moslenta”.

She said that she grew up in a different era of cinema, when there was careful preparation, long rehearsals and expeditions. Also, according to Nemolyaeva, high demands were placed on the actors.

“The actors were different then. Is it possible to forget Oleg Efremov, Evgeny Evstigneev, Oleg Basilashvili, Oleg Tabakov, Tatyana Doronina? They are etched in your memory forever. And now there is total averageness in cinema,” said the actress.

Svetlana Nemolyava believes that now all actors are similar to each other and it is impossible to distinguish them. Also, in her opinion, directors do not explain what and how to play.

“They used to look for unique and inimitable actors, but today, in my opinion, no one is looking for anyone,” she said, adding that “everything is for sale, and this is not for the benefit of art.”

Previously artist and director Sergei Rost appreciated the use of swear words in cinematography. According to him, anything is possible, however, if it is used, for example, to save a joke, then foul language will not help.
