The notice states that Abrau-Durso will increase prices on 15 items of alcoholic products. The biggest price increases will be for sparkling wine “Imerial” (up to +35%) and “Russian champagne “Kosher”” (+18%). The company will also increase the price of its non-alcoholic drinks: Abrau Indian Tonic will rise in price by 13%, children’s champagne Junior – by 10%.

The manufacturer explained the increase in prices by changes in excise tax rates, rising prices for production materials, components and transportation costs. RBC reports that the cost of their products will also be increased by Kuban-Vino, Tsimlyansk Wines, Soyuz-Vino, Fanagoria and others.

From May 1, 2024, excise tax rates on wines, with the exception of fortified wines, will be increased from 34 rubles. up to 108 rub. for 1 l. The rationale for the law, which the president signed in November, states that by increasing the excise tax, the budget could receive an additional 150 billion rubles. in 2024–2026.
