A woodworking company will start operating at the facilities of the former Ford plant in the Leningrad Region

The woodworking company plans to set up production at the former Ford plant in Vsevolozhsk. The investor is currently working in the mode of setting up production, Kommersant was told today, February 2, in the press service of the government of the Leningrad Region.

The site of the former Ford plant in the Leningrad region belongs to the South Korean auto parts manufacturer Sungwoo Hitech, which was forced reschedule the start of production. Woodworking production has rented part of the territory and is already successfully operating. The press service could not disclose the name of the company, its capacity and the timing of a full-fledged launch.

A subsidiary of the South Korean Sungwoo Hitech, Sangwoo Hitech Rus (LLC SV Rus), bought the site of the Ford plant in Vsevolozhsk in 2021. At the factory planned produce stiffeners for bumpers and side doors for Hyundai and Kia cars. Investments in the project were announced at the level of 6.8 billion rubles.
