A Russian court has banned the Czech Net4gas from suing Gazprom Export

The Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region upheld the claim of Gazprom Export LLC (MOEX: GAZP) to the Czech company operator of domestic gas pipelines Net4gas for a ban on continuing arbitration proceedings in the Czech Republic. In case of violation of the ban, the court decided to recover €112.96 million from Net4gas. The court also decided to recover from the Czech company the costs of the state duty paid by the Russian supplier in the amount of 206 thousand rubles.
According to card index The court filed a statement of claim against the Czech company Gazprom Export on February 2, and the claim was accepted for proceedings on February 6. The application came to the court after Net4gas decided to begin proceedings against Gazprom Export due to the fact that it had not received the last monthly payments from it for the use of its gas transmission system.
Net4gas announced that Gazprom Export did not transfer payments at the beginning of 2023. According to the Czech operator, negotiations with the Russian supplier did not bring results, and Net4gas decided to begin arbitration proceedings.
Net4gas Holdings has the exclusive right to transport natural gas throughout the Czech Republic. The company manages 4 thousand km of pipelines, five compressor stations and hundreds of pumping stations.
