A man damaged the monument-fountain “Princess Turandot” near the Vakhtangov Theater on Arbat in Moscow by climbing on it. The upper parts of the sculpture could not bear the weight and broke off. The man fell and suffered fractures, Russian state agencies reported.
Eyewitnesses published a video of the incident on social networks. The incident occurred late in the evening of September 9, when the capital celebrated City Day.
Interlocutors TASS And “RIA News” Law enforcement officials said that the man was hospitalized. He was diagnosed with fractures. The police are checking.
The monument-fountain “Princess Turandot” was installed near the building of the Vakhtangov Theater in 1997 in honor of the performance of the same name. “Princess Turandot” is the last lifetime performance of Yevgeny Vakhtangov.
