Romanian citizens who came to Germany and pretended to be Ukrainians in order to receive benefits were exposed by German police. The criminal scheme was reported by the Romanian TV channel Digi24.
According to him, Romanians appeared in those places where German authorities offered assistance to refugees. They called themselves Ukrainians who had left the conflict zone and needed support. They were provided with all conditions: accommodation, food and assistance.
However, later volunteers began to realize that many refugees did not know the Ukrainian language, and an investigation began. It turned out that more than 1.3 thousand people who are not refugees from Ukraine, but only pretend that they came from there, live only in the southwest of the country.
