“Mail for the honor of the opportunity to prove one’s devotion to the Motherland”

The presidential decree on partial mobilization, affecting up to 300,000 Russians in reserve, was supported by Russian poets already in the first hours after its promulgation. And among them, in particular, are the authors who, back in February-March, signed an appeal in support of the special operation carried out by the Russian army on Ukrainian territory.

So, Vladislav Malenko, founder and artistic director of the Moscow Theater of Poets, said the following in an interview with an MK correspondent:

– In short: reserve private Vlad Malenko, I support the order of the Commander-in-Chief. My comrades from the theater, the younger ones, wrote to me in the morning that they were ready and assembled. We already drive like a theater of rapid response along front-line roads. Ready to continue. We are listed in Russia. Together we will bring closer “May 9, 45th”, whenever this deadline comes.

Colleagues Malenko also expressed solidarity and unanimity. Alexander Antipov, poet, artist of the Moscow Theater of Poets, expressed the opinion that Russians and Ukrainians are fraternal peoples. At the same time, the conflict is not at all between them:

– The most important battle is now going on for the minds of people, including young minds. We must clearly realize that our main enemy in the West is with the Ukrainians and Belarusians. These are the governments and militaries of the “civilized hell” that have ignited the current and other conflicts. Everyone needs to unite, and we, for our part, are ready to continue this battle on our cultural front for the sake of the future of our common Motherland.

Approved the decree of the head of state and actress Anna Chepenko:

– I know that both in our team and throughout the country, men are ready and able to defend their homeland. This is the Russian spirit, swiftly, collectedly and selflessly reacting to the danger in relation to the native land and loved ones. Therefore, I am sure that Putin’s decree will lead us to victory over global injustice.

By the way, the lack of combat experience does not affect the degree of readiness to take up arms among theater poets:

“I have no military service experience behind me, it just so happened. However, my military card says that Private Reserve Sorokin has a military specialty “car driver”, and if the country needs me as a soldier, then it’s an honor for the opportunity to prove my devotion to the Motherland, ”said Roman Sorokin.

However, far from the capital, the mood is about the same – here is Dmitry Murzin from Kemerovo, a poet, executive secretary of the Ogni Kuzbasa magazine, believes that the current development of the situation with the NWO is a completely expected surprise:

– As is often the case with the decrees of our president, this is both an unexpected and long-awaited decision. Already on April 6, it became more or less obvious that it would take a long time to fight with such limited forces. Subsequent events confirmed this – more decisive action was needed. And now we have a decision on referendums in four regions – Zaporozhye, Kherson and the former Donetsk and Luhansk regions (is anyone else laughing at Naryshkin’s clause at the Security Council in February?) and limited mobilization. It was necessary. Will this be enough?
