The Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, Tatyana Moskalkova, reported that, as part of an agreement with the Ombudsman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Dmitry Lubinets, she visited 119 captured Ukrainian military personnel. The Ukrainian colleague, according to her, visited 119 Russian servicemen in captivity.
Moskalkova stated that the conditions of detention of Ukrainian prisoners in the Russian Federation and their medical care meet international requirements.
The Ombudsman added that “we spoke personally with each of the Ukrainian detainees,” some sent letters and video messages for relatives.
Lubinets, in turn, told Moskalkova that Russian military personnel are also “held in conditions that comply with international law.” The Russian military also recorded video messages for the families, and Moskalkova promised to pass them on.
