Zhora Kryzhovnikov (pseudonym of Andrei Pershin) burst into cinema exactly 10 years ago with the comedy “Gorko!”, which became a “sleeping” box office hit. Since then, Kryzhovnikov has become one of the most commercially successful Russian directors.
In recent years, Kryzhovnikov has not made films for film distribution and has almost completely switched to TV series for platforms. His dramedy Call DiCaprio! (2018) for the Premier video service was among the first high-profile platform projects from which the streaming boom in Russia can be started.
On November 9, Wink and Start started showing the crime drama “The Boy’s Word. Blood on the Asphalt” is only the second series for Kryzhovnikov the director. Since 2021, he has been holding the position of creative producer at NMG Studio (part of the National Media Group holding), so his name can be found in the credits of many streaming hit series – Fisher, Nadvoe, Actresses.
