The number of unemployed fell almost doubled — from 41.2 thousand in 2011 (51st place) to 24.2 thousand in 2021 (57th). The average monthly salary increased by 2.3 times – from 16.5 thousand rubles. in 2011 (54th place) to 39.4 thousand rubles. for the nine months of 2022 (64th place). Average pensions have doubled over the same period – from 7.9 thousand rubles. up to 17.6 thousand rubles.
Gross regional product increased in 2012–2021 from 181 billion rubles. up to 422 billion rubles. In 2011 in the region the budget was executed based on income of 32.1 billion rubles, expenses – 33.4 billion rubles. (deficit – 1.3 billion rubles). In 2021, the budget was executed with a surplus of about 7.5 billion rubles: revenues amounted to 63.1 billion rubles, expenses – 55.6 billion rubles. The projected total revenue of the region in 2022 is 59 billion rubles, expenses – 57.9 billion rubles.
Industrial production index in 2012 it was 100.5%, in 2022 – 97.9%.
The number of registered crimes in the Smolensk region has decreased by 14% – from 16,988 in 2012 to 14,611 in 2022.
