In the first six months of 2022, cross-border transfers worth $6.5 billion were made to Uzbekistan, of which $5.3 billion was sent from Russia. This follows from materials central bank of the republic. Compared to the same period last year, the volume of transfers increased 2.4 times, from $2.24 billion to $2.24 billion.

2nd place in cross-border payments is occupied by Kazakhstan ($327 million), 3rd by the United States ($237 million), 4th by the Republic of Korea ($138 million).

According to the regulator, the total volume of transfers to the country increased to $6.53 billion – 1.96 times.

Earlier, on September 12, the Uzbek banks Kapital and Ipak Yuli tightened the conditions for issuing cards to non-residents.

Russians began to actively issue bank cards in other countries after the Visa and MasterCard payment systems suspended their work in Russia. According to the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, since the beginning of the year, the opening of accounts by foreigners in the country has increased by 15-20%, most of the foreigners who open accounts are Russians.
