180 operators missed the deadline for connecting to the scam call blocking system

502 telecom operators have connected to the Antifraud system for blocking calls from spoofed numbers, Roskomnadzor reported in Telegram. More than 180 operators violated the deadlines. Fines totaling RUB 2.1 million were imposed on four companies.
In total, 1.3 thousand operators should connect to Antifraud. Those who violate the connection deadlines face administrative liability under Art. 13.2.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, which provides for a fine of up to 1 million rubles.
The total number capacity of all operators joining the system is 79.4%. 622 million calls with number spoofing were prevented. Over the course of a year of operation, Antifraud checked 90 billion calls.
The Antifraud system was launched at the beginning of the year to combat telephone scammers. All telecom operators in the Russian Federation must connect to it by the end of February 2024. According to Kommersant, the Prosecutor General’s Office together with Roskomnadzor are preparing an initiative to revoke licenses from telecom operators that allow fraudulent calls.
