135% increase in import trucking recorded on ATI.SU exchange

In the third quarter, the number of applications for the delivery of goods by road from Russia decreased by 22% in annual terms, but import traffic, on the contrary, increased by 135%, follows from the data of the ATI.SU trucking exchange. Exchange experts attribute this trend to the restructuring of supply chains, including problems with maritime transportation.
In the segment of export international road transport, the Central Asian direction is growing the fastest. Thus, compared with the second quarter, transportation to Uzbekistan increased by 24%, to Tajikistan – by 19%, to Kazakhstan – by 4%. However, growth was recorded only in these areas. There was a decrease in all European directions, and the Belarusian one also sank – by 34%. Compared to the second quarter, the demand for transportation to Turkey, Armenia and Georgia decreased. “Probably, this is a slight correction after the spring surge, as well as a reaction to cargo delays due to queues at the Russian-Georgian border,” ATI.SU notes. “At the same time, in annual terms, traffic on these routes continues to show impressive growth. Thus, the number of applications for the delivery of goods to Turkey increased by 149% compared to last year, to Armenia – by 104%, to Georgia – by 100%.
In import traffic, even compared to the second quarter, impressive growth continues in almost all directions, with the exception of semi-closed Europe. “The number of applications for transportation from Belarus increased by 93%, from Armenia – by 76%, China – by 54%, Turkey – by 44%, Georgia – by 43%,” ATI.SU reports. of these directions, a multiple growth is observed, Armenia and Turkey are in the lead.”
